MUMS – you know those days where you wake up with loads of motivation and you can feel your creative juices flowing and you want to bury yourself in your projects and not be interrupted and you just KNOW you’re going to achieve big things and feel productive AF…..then you’re reminded very quickly that your small, young and ridiculously adorable child wants to hang out with you and play ALL DAY. Well that was me today. Still, managed to perform a quick couple of costume changes and grab some snaps of more of my favourite #secondhand finds to celebrate #dressedbyvinnies day 🧥 This time the whole outfit (underwear excluded because, well, yeah nah) Shoes are genuine leather and cost me a teeny $4, the wine coloured velvet jacket was love at first sight and cost me maybe around $6, dress by #quirkycircus was a steal at $8

The Op Shop Girl

“Op shops are my happy place, my home away from home!” – The Op Shop Girl

Hi there, I’m Melissa also known as ‘The Op Shop Girl’ on YouTube and I am so addicted to op shopping that I create three videos a week on my YouTube channel.

I film op shopping vlogs, upcycling videos and also op shop hauls where I show you all the amazing thrifted treasures I find at my local op shops. I love op shopping as I prefer to give clothing and homewares a second life and reuse, I don’t like to look like everyone else in what i’m wearing, so op shopping helps me to create unique outfits at a bargain price and I actually prefer second hand and vintage over brand new and have been an avid op shopper since I was about 5 years old.

I love knowing that things I buy at the op shops such as fashion, homewares and furniture all have a history. To me it’s comforting and somewhat magical. Op shopping makes me so very happy, I can’t get enough of it, it relax’s me and makes me feel good and I love sharing my op shopping adventures with other people to hopefully inspire them to try op shopping too.

Today I thought I would share with you one of my op shop hauls from the recent National Op Shop Week 2018 celebrations we had here in Australia. I filmed 6 op shopping videos during National Op Shop Week. Hope you enjoy this video where we head out to the 50% Salvos sale and be sure to leave a comment saying hello or just a line about why you love op shopping too.

The Op Shop Girl – Keep In Touch

I’d love for you to subscribe to my YouTube channel here and join our lovely thrifted little family just click the YouTube picture below.

Feel free to also follow my Facebook page as I often post photos of treasures I find in my local op shops and sometimes post the odd thrifted too.

I’m also on Instagram and I love posting lots of pink shabby chic thrifted themed photos.

Thank you so much for joining me for today’s op shopping adventure and happy thrifting xo

Would you like to contribute to the site?

Drop me a message to get in  touch if you’d like to share your op shop love with the I Love To Op Shop community. You might sew, vlog, blog, write or sing!  If it’s thrifted, upcycled, recycled I’m sure they’d like to know more – Vicky
