Another sad announcement with the closure of a bit of a market institution in Melbourne’s South East.
I love browsing markets and taking in all the different sights, sounds and smells. They tend to attract a hugely diverse crowd making the trips really interesting. One minute you’re looking at antique teacups, the next stall is clearing out the rooms of children who have outgrown toys, clothes and books and they are followed by vendors with books, LP’s or fashion rails.
The much loved Dandenong Trash and Treasure Market announced it’s closure yesterday on its Facebook page.
With a heavy heart, we must inform you that our Dandenong market will be closing its doors on 25th June 2023. It has been an honour serving you all over the years and being part of your lives.
Unfortunately, due to Lunar Drive-In closing and the land that we operate on being redeveloped we have reached this difficult decision.
Our staff and stallholders have been exceptional, and we thank them for their dedication. We couldn’t have come this far without their hard work.
While we close our doors, our Wantirna & Coburg locations will continue to operate every Sunday.
Thank you for the memories.
You’ll only get a couple more opportunities to head there for your last browse.
You can find out more about the other Trash and Treasure markets at Wantirna and Coburg here.
