First Nations People Mailers

Sometimes items that get thrown at you on your Facebook feed that just make you want to share them with other people.  I’m sharing this here because I’m hoping some of you will love these too.

It’s just a postage bag and yet it’s so much more!  Hero Packaging (no affiliation what so ever) are a brand I like because they provide a more sustainable options for people that post.  Their pretty satchels are all compostable but this is my new favourite.

It comes in three sizes so you have options that vary from 19cm x 26cm to their largest bag in this range which is 36cm x 48cm.  The mailers also have a double adhesive design so they could be used twice.

Madison Connors of Yarli Creative

The First Nations People Home collaboration is with Madison Connors who is behind Yarlu Creative.  Madison descibes herself on her website as

A 30 -year-old proud and strong Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Gamilaroi woman.

My identity is what drives me. It’s something that is within me and comes from the heart. My connection to my environmental surroundings is my blood line and vein to this country and the community which runs deep within. I come from a strong line of women and am following in their footsteps. I aim to embody their full form on this earth and strive to make my mob proud of the work that I create and achieve.

The satchels were designed to support First Nations history and celebrate indiginous culture in Australia.

But there is more……

Each Sale Supports Children’s Ground

20% of each sale will go towards Children’s Ground which is an Aboriginal organisation which works with children, families and communities facing exclusion, injustice and disadvantage.

Their Vision goals can be found on their website.

OUR VISION:

  • For all children and families to live with dignity and justice, free from economic poverty

  • For First Nations people in Australia to achieve their aspirations for their children to enjoy a life of opportunity, strong cultural identity, and personal wellbeing by having voice and agency over their social, cultural, political and economic future

  • For Australia to know our history and celebrate First Nations culture and future
