If you have been meaning to donate your unwanted clothes for a while but haven’t found time take advantage of this partnership between Uber and the Red Cross.

This Sunday the 31st January Uber drivers are helping out the Red Cross to make donating even quicker and more efficient for you.

Nine cities are taking part so check to see if you qualify first.

  • Sydney: CBD, Lower North Shore, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West

  • Canberra: North and South Canberra

  • Melbourne: CBD, North to Brunswick and Northcote, East to Kew and Hawthorn, South-East to Elsternwick and Malvern East, Dandenong

  • Geelong: North Geelong to Corio and Norlane, South Geelong to Grovedale and Marshall, Central Geelong

  • Adelaide: CBD and Surrounding Suburbs

  • Perth: CBD, North to Joondalup, South to Cockburn

  • Brisbane: CBD, South to Moorooka, North to Chermside, East to Murrarie, West to Indooroopilly

  • Gold Coast: Southport to Coolangatta

  • Sunshine Coast: Caloundra to Noosa Heads

You need to have the Uber app installed which you can do via Google Play or ITunes.

You then have between 11am – 4pm to login slide,  across to “Clothing Drive” and hit request.  You can then sit back, have a cuppa and relax whilst you wait for a driver to come and pick up your bagged things.

I know you’re here now because you love to op shop so I don’t need to go into the finer details of how they’d only like clean saleable items, it’s basically just a reminder to #donatedontdump .  Be like Bill!

If they are swamped and don’t make it please give them a break, they are taking time out to try and help the Red Cross, if it goes well they could hopefully do more.  If they don’t make it to you but you’re still keen to donate to the Red Cross have a look for your nearest store here.

You can find out more about this partnership on the Uber news page here.

What a fantastic idea, good on you Uber!
