Biscuit tins are something I see pretty often and I’ve picked up a couple of cute one’s but what to do with them? I live in a in a unit in the suburbs of Melbourne – I just don’t have the room. I also rent which limits my ability to make my home my own to some extent. A girl can dream though and upcycled everyday items is one way to start.
Whilst having a glass of wine and watching Please Like me on ABCIView I decided to save some inspiring ideas, I love that show and it’s op shop chic. Each post will concentrate on a different fairly common op shop item that can be used to good or given a new lease of life.
This is my way of hopefully making you (and reminding me) to think outside the box.
How gorgeous does this look as a lampshade?
I love this simple ide also from Design Sponge which features a tutorial – click here to see how.
Now I’m not saying you’re going to get lucky with such vintage finds straigt away, the idea is you go often and keep your eyes opened.
The print on this tin must have stood out a mile, it’s just so damn pretty.
Some major swooning below, I just love the collections here
Now this would take a few trips to the op shop but boy would it be worth it!! Upcycled biscuit tin shelving! It’s amazing. I can’t see it lasting long in my house with two young and busy boys but it’s on my op shop bucket list.
Now it only seems fair to spread some of the inspiration outdoors. What bird wouldn’t be happy getting breakfast here of a morning?
If you have some ideas to share or have upcycled biscuit tins of your own I’d love to see what you’ve done.
What do you think of these? Hopefully it’s given you some inspiration.
